The David Woodyard Trust

To assist in global theological education efforts focused on clergy and seminarians, the trustees of the David Woodyard Trust transferred funds to the Center.  These monies represent a living legacy in memory of Rev. David Woodyard, a United Methodist clergy in Colorado who died of AIDS in the early 1980’s.

Funds from the trust have been used to provide assistance in creating seminars in Cambodia, Thailand, India, and Malawi.  These seminars are conducted in partnership with local and regional church and seminary associations.

Working Affiliations

During the period of 2000-2007, the Center has sponsored many AIDS projects and educational programs in the United States and around the world.  These efforts were accomplished through the assistance of Park Hill United Methodist Church, The Iliff School of Theology, and the United Methodist Board of Global Ministries.  The Center’s creation became a separate legal entity in 2006, but maintained affiliations with Park Hill UMC and Iliff. Other working relationships include the international United Methodist Global AIDS Fund, Cornell University (Ithaca, New York), Eastern Theological College (Assam, India), Madras Christian College (Chennai, India), and Bethany Lutheran Church (Greenwood Village, Colorado).
